The Most Wonderful Day of the Year isn’t in December; it’s this Saturday, May 20.

Of course, Ms. Go Go is referring to World Whisky Day, which you’ll want to spend at miro: a fave on DTLA’s “restaurant hot list”.

The cocktail hour festivities will take place in the “NEW” version of The Whiskey Lounge. Why “New”? Come see for yourself on Saturday because what’s a party without a surprise?

Your $40 ticket includes hosted small bites and sponsored tastings from an international roster of brown spirits including: Scottish Glen Grant and Benromach; Irish Teeling and homegrown Wild Turkey and Russell’s Reserve.

Special cocktails are only $8. That means you can sip an Alexander Murray & Co.‘s Glasgow (Bon Accord, Sweet Vermouth, Dry Vermouth) paired with  Smoked Ricotta Tortellini and still have enough moolah for a WhistlePig Pig Puns cocktail (WhistlePig 10yr, Laird’s AppleJack, WhistlePig Barrel Aged Maple Syrup, Angostura, Lemon Peel) matched with WhistlePig Chicken and Waffles .

It may be World Whisky Day but you still gotta eat.

Jack Daniel's and Frank SinatraSupper with Sinatra: A Jack Daniel’s Whiskey Dinner

Ol’ Blue Eyes still knows how to throw a swingin’ bash and you’re invited!

Singer, actor, and cultural icon Frank Sinatra enjoyed a long and very public love affair with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey. He was so fond of the classic American spirit that he created a private society to which, during his lifetime, only his friends and associates were granted membership.

This Sunday, May 21st, guests at Supper with Sinatra: A Jack Daniel’s Whiskey Dinner (co-presented by The Museum of the American Cocktail and Women Who Whiskey ~ Los Angeles) will enjoy formal induction into Frank’s exclusive “country club” by renowned whiskey expert and Jack Daniel’s ambassador Eric “ET” Tecosky

Naturally, there will be Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey in honor of the Bourbon Baritone!

Guests will enjoy seven neat pours of Jack Daniel’s finest, including some rare and never before available expressions, plus a cocktail or two, as well as five courses of gourmet Italian American fare from the kitchen of Osteria La Buca.

The Chairman of the Board would definitely approve….

The award for the Best Memorial Day Prep Event goes to Los Angeles Magazine‘s 2nd annual Burgers Bourbon + Beer.

Oh, the power….

The difficult job of burger judge will be made much, much easier with craft quaffs from L.A.’s own Golden Road Brewery and Ms. Go Go’s fave arm of the food trifecta: bourbon.  Sip and sample the best of America’s Own Whiskey including: Knob Creek and Knob Creek Rye; Maker’s Mark and Maker’s 46; Four Roses and Michter’s.  And while they’re not bourbons, don’t miss a chance to sample international whisky-without-the-“e”  from Scotland and Japan include Kilchoman, Tamdhu and Toki. (Pro tip: the latter makes the best highball known to woman or man.)

The Hump Day kick-off to the unofficial start of summer not only includes all the culinary and booze staples of the season but dancing to live music and a GEARYS & Orrefors-sponsored photo booth to capture your booze and grilled meat shenanigans.

Of which there will undoubtedly be many….
