Here’s how to enjoy your scrubbed-fresh weekend.
Mexico’s premier choreographer and dancer Tania Salas-Perez and her Compania de Danza shake up the Music Center with all the emotion and surrealism that you’d expect from the land of Kahlo and calaveras.
Based in Mexico City, Perez-Salas’s choreography is memorable for her passion and her eclectic range of musical choices and far-reaching artistic inspirations.
Each work is born from a real-life experience; her shows enthrall with dreamlike imagery, including haunting video projections and lavish props.
Enjoy pre-/post-show talks with members of Compania de Danza at all three of the weekend’s performances; musical selections from Mochilla DJs Brian Cross (B+), Eric Coleman and Azul 213 Amaral will enhance the post-show lounge.
Keep your Tania Perez-Salas ticket for 2-for-1 admission to the feature exhibition, Mexico: Fantastic Identity and permanent collection show, Transformations at the Museum of Latin American Art, Long Beach
Prepare to be amazed.
