In case you hadn’t noticed, it’s the holiday season.
To survive the surfeit of cheer, Ms. Go Go offers a libation-themed weekend that only marginally edges into wassail-and-eggnog territory.
Think of the weekend as sanity in a glass….
The End of Madness
On December 5, 1933, Americans got the best early Christmas present ever when Prohibition was repealed.
What better place to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the end of insanity than in one of 1933 Group‘s fab bars with a special Repeal Day cocktail for a dollar?
From 5 to 7 p.m. tonight, each of The 1933 Group’s six, splendid — and, clearly, historically minded — drinkeries will offer a special Repeal Day cocktail for a bill, a buck, a bone.
Sip on Old-Fashioneds at Harlowe, Bigfoot Lodge, Oldfield’s, Thirsty Crow, Sassafras and Big Foot West. The latter establishment will also offer a pisco-based Kapple Pie while La Cuevita is featuring a Tequila Press, with jalapeño-infused Sino tequila.
A buzz for a buck? You’ll drink to that….
1933 GROUP’S REPEAL DAY COCKTAILS — Fri, Dec 5, 5-7pm. $1/21+ — Go HERE for 1933 Group bar locations.
Back in the day, people drank from hollow gourds and bare hands.
Then things got fancy….
