Multitasking Go Go’ers will definitely want to mark Fridays in October for Haunted Midnights at the Comedy Store. You can shriek with laughter AND fear thanks to Magic Castle and Cirque du Soleil performers, parapsychologists, unquiet spirits, a séance, and a flashlight tour of the infamous Comedy Store basement where Micky Cohen and his mobsters may or may not have wreaked murderous mayhem when the joint was still Ciro’s, haunt of celebrities and gangsters instead of comedians and ghosts.
This excruciatingly exciting evening of ectoplasmic entertainment can be yours for a sawbuck and the price of two Zombies (the wake-the-dead rum kind, not the Living Dead, eat-your-brains kind).
Thrill! to the creepy comedy stylings of “Mr. Skitzo, a.k.a. Jeff Scott, long-time Comedy Store pianist, Pee Wee Herman impersonator, “octogenarian” vaudeville magician Mr. Del Arte, and Cirque du Soleil performer.
Chill! to Magic Castle veteran and mentalist Georges-Robert‘s magic, mind-reading, and spirit communication.
Spill! your drink when you hear the research of parapsychologist Larry Montz Ph.D. and see footage of supernatural shenanigans. And that’s all before the flashlight tour of the Comedy Store basement where funnyman/security guard Blake Clark allegedly saw moving chairs, pulsing doors, and malevolent shadows.
On second thought, you might want to order Holy Waters instead of Zombies for your liquid courage. Go Go’ers. When dealing with potential poltergeists, it’s always prudent to be prepared.
