Can you say waku waku suru* five times fast?
Saturday’s Los Angeles Sake Festival offers the chance to sample 100+ sakes, brush up on (or learn!) your sake ABC’s in intro classes, and sip sake-based libations from top mixologists (sake-ologists?) at the open bar. All this and karaoke too! (Ms. Go Go’s prediction for #1 requested song: “Turning Japanese”.)
The three hour event (That’s 30 sakes an hour! Pace yourselves, Go Go-ers.) will be held at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel, recently revamped in mid-Fifties modern so you can have your Tokyo Rose amidst Rat Pack glam-surround.
Your (sake) cup runneth over, baby.

CLARIFICATION: The 3/15 post St. Patrick’s Day: Three Alternatives to Green Beer implied that Brad Colerick owns WineStyles in South Pasadena. In fact, Kathy Bergstrom is the lovely and gracious owner of WineStyles, where $6 & up glasses of wine and upscale nibbles can be sampled every Wednesday during Wine & Song, a no-cover-charge, weekly songwriter showcase and local “hang” hosted by Donati Vineyards and Brad Colerick http://wineandsong.com/
