Los Angeles Flamenco Festival: Sexy, sexy Spain

Is there anything more sensuous, more purely Spanish than Flamenco?  (Focus, Go Go-ers…Ms. Go Go is talking DANCE….)

This weekend, the 1st annual Los Angeles Flamenco Festival offers three nights of this passionate, thrilling Andalusian/gypsy art form featuring some of the top U.S. flamenco dancers and guitarists.  (If you love the Gypsy Kings, you’ll want to check out guitarist Jose Tanaka on Sunday night; The Los Angeles Times’ Jennifer Fisher commented, “Tanaka’s solo work proves he must have the fastest right hand in the West.”   Hmmm….)

Want to make it una noche de Espana?  Sip Sangria or try tapas at Sangria, which hosts the Saturday night VIP reception for the Festival, or Mediterraneo, which gets consistently high praise for their Monday-Friday Happy Hour (“Buy one, get one free” from limited Happy Hour tapas menu.) and discounted glasses and pitchers of Sangria on Sundays.

(Both restaurants in nearby Hermosa Beach)
